I am involved with monthly tasks that are associated with Capital Expenditure throughout the month involving the tagging of assets, capitalisations and forecasting. I also have month end duties to prepare for by preparing journals. I am also involved in some projects that is associated with analysis of costs etc.
Communicating with a variety of people, problem solving and analysis are the big 3 skills that have been developed as for finance analysis is very important.
I enjoy my programme as I am able to have access to a variety of opportunities in not only my current team but being involved in projects that are out of my normal day-to-day activities to gain experience else where in the business.
I have a rough guide for a work plan but it is not structured just a tick off list more than anything. With my studies I have a weekly plan on what I should roughly be on to keep on track ready for my exams.
There is a lot of support available from your line manager whether you are feeling stressed, need more/less work etc.
There is a lot of support, weekly calls are available to go through the topic or any topic you are struggling with that week, they are also available throughout the week if you have any questions too.
My studies have helped me a lot as I am able to gain knowledge and understanding on the work I am doing, especially as finance has a lot of new terms and ways of working to understand.
Some classes available like running etc but not much opportunity in the Port Sunlight site.
