This is dependent on the type of job you are on and the people you are working alongside. However overall i have had an unbelievable first placement in which i have had the opportunity to professionally develop.
On joining the firm we are all assigned Career Coaches, I have been lucky enough to gain an unbelievable career coach who was always open to questions, even when busy. This created a good support. On Top of this we had FS Champs who communicated with us all and ensured that our wellbeing was top priority.
The training provider being ICAEW and University of Reading don't seem to be present during placement. Which is understandable due to the association they have to it, however because we go back to exams at the university of reading i think it is important that in the future they continue to support us during our time on placement. And put in revision sources at the beginning or middle of placement and not just the end.
By working in the flying start programme it will have a greater effect in my qualification overall as it will assist me when i graduate into PwC. It has allowed me to understand the industry, whilst aiding me in understanding the real life use of my university work.
