I have helped with performing audit procedures on various clients. I have done testing over areas like revenue, operating expenses, payroll. Day-to-day I'd prioritise solving any queries with the client and getting supporting documentation first and then documenting these.
Due to tight deadlines I have improved my time management skills and I have gained a lot of confidence when it comes to speaking to the client. I have gained a much better understanding of audit and I have become more confident in excel.
I have enjoyed my first placement and everyone has been extremely supportive. However, having given what seems like so much responsibility, can be a bit overwhelming. The placements are in the busy season therefore the hours can also be very long.
Everyone's very supportive, understanding and always happy to answer any questions I have.
