The role involves being allocated specific work by your seniors. You will be coached through specific tasks which will involve speaking to the client in order to complete the task in a timely manner and keeping the team updated daily on your progress.
Throughout placement I have learnt many new skills and built upon my existing skills from last placement. I have also developed my skills in PwC's core competencies; Whole leadership, relationships, business acumen, technical capabilities and global acumen.
I thoroughly enjoy this programme. The work is very interesting and I have developed my knowledge over placement. The teams that I have worked with have taught me a lot and I have had fantastic coaching from my seniors.
The programme is very well structured and organised. We receive training before we go on placement in December which helps to develop our skills. The support throughout placement is great there are many sources such as career coach, buddies, flying start champions and your peers.
There is a lot of easy accessible support from PwC in the form of career coaches, buddies, flying start champions, peers in the years above and below and the team that you are working with.
We receive a lot of support from the training provider when working towards our qualification. This includes weekly lectures and online material made available to us, along with access to help on anything that we need help with.
The qualification helps me to perform better in my role as I am able to apply the theory that i have learnt at university to practice on my placement.
There are many extra-curricular activities to get involved in at work. An example of this is everyone is part of a social groups which runs many different social activities. There are also sports teams such as Basketball that you can get involved in.
Yes
PwC is a great company to work, where you can develop your skills and meet new people. The application process consisted of an assessment centre and an interview meeting current university students on the course, university staff and PwC staff.
The tips I would give to others applying to PwC are to prepare for the assessment days and interview, have a general interest in business current affairs and in the department that they are applying for.
