Working with other members on the clinical trials team to facilitate the delivery of clinical trials. I use various different highly specialised systems to complete my work. I have a lot of responsibility over my work and I am treated with respect.
Absolutely! GSK has helped me to develop a magnitude of skills ranging from teamwork to accountability. The support provided by my manager and the apprenticeship team helps me to develop and grow. I feel that I am able to really contribute to the work in a productive way.
I love everyday of work. Each day I face a new challenge which sometimes puts me out of my comfort zone. However, this stretch challenge allows me to grow, develop and learn.
The structure for my apprenticeship is still slightly undecided as it is the first time GSK has run this apprenticeship. However, so far I have been able to attend lot of events. Also the structure is great as it allows me to slowly build my understanding.
I receive a large amount of support from my manager and my apprenticeship buddy. Both work within my team so they are able to help me with new challenges and any questions I have. Furthermore, I receive a lot of support from my apprentice HR contact.
My University lecturer always marks my work on time and provides great constructive feedback. Furthermore, all of my questions have been answered swiftly with great explanations. Communication from the University was a bit poor at the start of the apprenticeship though.
So far my qualification is not that relevant to my role as I do not need to apply the science I learn. However, I am starting a module on good clinical practise, which will be vital for my role next year.
At Stockley Park, we hold lots of STEM events for students and children, which are run by the apprentices and industrial placement students. This provides a great experience to develop my transferable skills.

GSK is the first ever company I have worked at. So far, everybody who I have met has been kind and supportive. I am treated as an actual employee rather than a student and the respect I receive is amazing. I could not recommend a better company.
Make sure you read up on the company and know its core values and expectations. Also ensure that you are happy to live with those values and they line up with your own personal values.
