  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I was given the role as a junior associate. I was responsible with helping seniors to do tasks and complete the work that was assigned to me. Each week I was responsible for filling out a new section of the audit. I was expected to do this in a timely manner and then raise any issues with the client.

  • The importance of being pro-active and raising issues so they can be resolved quickly and effectively. The importance of working as a team in order to meet a deadline. I have been able to apply the knowledge learnt in lectures directly to the audit. Also learnt communication skills. Completed online training course which highlights key principles of working

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed my programme thoroughly. I thought it challenging but enjoyed continuously learning on the programme. I love the mixture of university and placement which meant you can apply the knowledge learnt directly. Furthermore, I enjoyed the practical experience that I recieved.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Extremely well structured. I enjoyed how the first year was at university and then we take terms out to do placement in 2nd, 3rd and 4th year. I also enjoyed the placement training before we began placement which gave us a clear introduction on what we would be expected to do. It was very well organised.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There was agood support system. When we arrived we were assigned a career coach and a buddy in which we could ask any questions. Within the first week our career coach contacted us about placement and made sure everything was going smoothly. I also appreciate all the support I got from ex member of the programme. There coaching style was clear and they always would be willing to help.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Due to the course being associated with the university we were given a clear indication of what each module was worth in working towards being qualified. They would constantly remind us of how to do something and how to do it. Even when filling out hours toward our time they were clear and consistent.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The content that we learnt in university was directly applicable to the role especially with audit and assurance. I found my self always thinking of what I learnt and how I could apply it directly to the work that I was doing. It made me perform better in role as it meant I had developed my understanding.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There were always end of audit meals that I could take part in. Also every single friday of the month there was a drinks gathering. There are loads of clubs available however they weren't available to me due to starting in busy season. However, we were always emailed about events.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The amount of support you are given is incredible as you never feel like you are alone with your career coach and buddy. Also the firm pride themselves on quality so you know you are producing the bestest of work. The programme is immersive and enjoy apply knowledge learnt at uni directly to the workplace.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Make sure you know a lot about how PWC operates as a business. It is important to understand what they expect from you as a professional as they exoect you to always try your best and ask loads of questions. Have some technical knowledge on what you may be expected to do throughout your placement.
