On a day to day basis I would complete tasks on PwC's system relating to audit. I would speak often with my managers and seniors to get assistance on what I needed to do. I was responsible for designated areas such as Cost of Sales throughout my time on each client.
Yes, I have learnt lots of new skills. I have learnt skills on PwC's system which I have never used before. I have developed my existing skills of Audit which I had learnt through my University Course. I have learnt lots about how an audit takes place and the work that is performed.
I really enjoyed the first placement of my programme. The office I was based in was very friendly and the team was very keen in ensuring I understood everything and felt confident in what I was doing. I enjoyed all of the work I performed, especially the away jobs which I went on.
The programme is very well structured. We receive a week of training from PwC when we are still at university - and then when we join the firm we receive some admin days to help us understand how the firm works. I had a designated career coach who I could talk to about anything.
I received lots of support from my employer through my team as well as my career coach. My career coach was on hand for a call/message whenever I needed any assistance and to provide support. All of my seniors were incredibly helpful in ensuring I knew what I was doing.
I receive a lot of support. My course is a mix of University and work placement - and ensures I get 12/15 accreditations for my chartered accountancy qualification. there is constan support from both my employer and university when working towards these - and the placement putsa into practice what we have learnt
I feel that the qualification helps me perform better in my role as it provides me with both a uni degree and time on placement - doing subjects which are entwined in order to work side by side. this means i have prior learning to apply to my role in work
Yes there are many extra-curricular activities which can take place throughout my time at wokr - for example: quiz nights, and team meals which is a great way to boost team morale. There are many options to take place in social and company events - through calendars and email reminders from the company
Yes
I would recommend PwC to a friend as they are a great employer in ensuring you are confident, and providing lots of assistance when you are stuck. Everyone is very friendly and ensures that you are understanding - and will offer help whenever necessayr. I found this great through my first placement
The advice and tips I would give to others applying at PwC would be to have a broad knowledge of business and be willing to learn lots of new information and willing to put in the hours necessary to complete the task. You also should ask lots of questions in the interviews
