Auditing the pensions FLSI looking at testing the fair value of the plan assets and ensuring that the assumptions used are reliable and accurate
I've learnt how to use Aura and how to audit more complex areas of a file
I enjoyed getting to meet new people as everyone was really friendly and although it was stressful at first learning new skills I found towards the end it was more enjoyable when my understanding of the work I was doing had improved.
The first week was a bit disorganised as it wasn't clear to other people what the extent of our audit experience leading to people having higher expectations of us than was possible to achieve. However the structure of the programme is quite good in relation to the team hierarchy.
As it was busy team there was often a lack of available support for coaching but overall the general attitude was that people were always willing to try and answer questions
We got regular updates from the university from Tutors and lecturers
We have a higher level of understanding around the audit process and are able to understand what we are working on. If we have covered something in a lecture it means we are able to see how it works in a real life situation
There were lots of social activities which allowed us to get to know everybody a lot better and to relax at the end of the week
