  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Performing audit work for clients on both client site and in office. I have travelled across the country to various clients in order to perform technical audit work across a multitude of FSLIs in order to provide assurance to the client. I worked with various audit teams and interacted with clients.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt to perform various audit procedures from scratch and developed networking skills along with greatly increased technical capabilities. All of this was brand new to me before starting the program and so I have had to learn quickly and have achieved a good level of technical capability throughout the program.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the teamwork aspect and learning about a previously unknown subject in a professional environment. It was interesting learning about various industries and clients in order to gain a greater understanding over what was required for each specific audit. It was important to me that i bonded with the team and i achieved that.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Extremely organised and very well structured. We are kept up to date with any alterations especially during the current climate. The whole course is outlined and detailed before joining and the structure is rigid throughout to ensure that we know what the next stage is at all times so that we are prepared.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Support is always available at every level. We have coaches and managers and are able to find support with anyone that we feel comfortable talking to. We have regular catch ups with our coaches and tutors where we discuss the next stages of the program and any ongoing issues we may be experiencing.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • A lot of support is always available in every aspect of work. Our training provider ensures that we have coaches and tutors that are available to discuss problems that arise whether it is in our personal or professional lives. If our coaches or tutors cannot help then they are always able to direct us to people that can.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification is essential to my role and it brings a lot of essential information. My qualification brings the background information needed to excel at my role which, when combined with professional placements, allows us to quickly progress and develop in the professional environment that we are working in in order to provide better services.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Many extra activities such as office socials are help each week in order to bond with other members of the office and audit teams. There are games nights and sporting events held regularly. Networking events are also regularly available in order to build and develop your professional network in the office.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • PwC provides a fantastic experience in work as it is flexible and supportive at all times. It provides many benefits for its employees and and promotes a friendly and positive atmosphere. As it is one of the biggest employers of graduates in the UK it also surprises me that it provides a very good rate of pay from the start.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Be open and friendly as this is one of the most important characteristics when working for the company as it is regular that you will be working in a small team for long periods of time. Along with this you must be mature enough to maintain professional friendships along with client relationships.
