Client facing audit work. Involves testing accounts, balances and learning from the people around you. My daily interactions internally include seniors, managers and sometimes partners. My daily interactions externally include all staff working on the client side of the business. My responsibilities vary on a day to day basis based on the projects needs.
Have built up my confidence since joining as well as my communication skills as have had to deal with all sorts of clients and managers. I have also gained skills and knowledge in the sense of internal training courses we are required to do as well as the exams we are required to take.
I enjoy the program as I'm never in one place (no month is the same). I am always travelling between client sites and learning something new. I am always working with different team members which is nice. I enjoy the company culture as I believe it is diverse and fun.
I believe the program is well organised. We have set study time off as well as organised college days. We also have designated training days as well as support from our assigned counsellor. We have family meetings every quarter and peer mentor meetings to discuss any issues or problems we have.
I believe we receive a large array of support from a various number of people within the company. We have managers who are understanding and will mostly work around your needs if needed. We have councillors and assigned buddy's to talk to if needed. We also have a designated support team for our qualification.
I believe we receive a large amount of support from the tuition provider 'Kaplan'. There are a number of resources available online as well as the teaching quality being very good. The accessibility to the support is easy with a 'Contact a Tutor' button available where you will receive an answer to your question on a timely basis.
The qualification we are working towards (ACA), I believe helps massively in our day to day role in the business. The exam topics are what we will need and eventually need in our role at work. I definitely feel like I have learnt more about my job/role due to revising these topics for the exam.
There are many extra-curricular activities to get involved in at work. Although I have not personally attended any, I know there is a vast array of company events, activities such as football teams, netball teams and so on, social events, and many volunteering opportunities throughout the company. These are all mainly based in Central London.
Yes
As mentioned in all my points above. I believe it is a good company to work for, with a vast array of support available. I believe the course/program is well structured and laid out. The EY culture is diverse and fun, which allows you to meet a wide range of different people (especially with many societies within the company)
Just be YOU. I think EY likes diversity and wants you to be yourself. Show that you are confident and take lead where necessary in the assessment days to show your potential leadership skills and so on. Network as much as you can, especially on the assessment days, as you never know when these connections could be needed
