Making all the cakes, fruit pot, dessert pots and helping the sous chef/head chef with anything they need
Lots of new skills and new things I probably wouldn't have learnt if I hadn't done the apprenticeship
I really enjoy my programme as I get to learn alot of new skills and it means I can help out more with my colleagues
very well organised, the tutor knows what to do and it all works very smoothly.
I receive lots of support from my manager, my head chef and my colleagues as they know how much time an effort I put into my work.
I receive lots of support from my training provider, wether it be if I email her if I am stuck with anything or if we can't do a personal meeting then we sort it either over video chat or on the phone.
I feel that it pushes me to do more in my job role, so I know what I have to have completed for the next meeting and the manager and head chef always check up to see how I'm doing with my qualification.
There are training days, for example I did a first aid training course which now enables me to be a first aider. There are also many food training days such as ones for baking or butchery.
Yes
Elior has invested a lot into me, wether it be doing the training days, doing the chef school programme or winning the young chef of the year and the site colleague of the year. I have only been with Elior for 3 and 1/2 years but I have achieved alot in that time thanks to the people that work within Elior.
Say yes to any opportunities that you can as they are definitely worth it and don't be afraid to ask if there is anything going on within Elior that you could be apart of.
