I had to audit tax reports for practise clients and had to research and present a presentation about AI.
I learnt how to audit reports and how to do a presentation properly by getting professional feed back on what I need to improve. I Also learnt other skills like professional etiquette, how to stand with the right posture.
I enjoyed it a lot as my mentor was like a year or 2 older than me which made it easier to connect and he gave the the right balance between work and the game room so it didn’t get boring. We also done group activities with other people on the programme.
The programme was really well structured and each one of us had our own mentor and we were given laptops which we could use to contact our mentor anytime we needed. The first day we were introduced to our mentors and got to know them a bit better and our mentors and us were given clear instructions on our daily task.
The office atmosphere was really fun. It was kind of an open plan office we could sit where ever we want at a desk or a table, there was also cubicles which you could go in invade u needed to call your client so you won’t disturb others. Everyone knew each other. There was also a game room and a place here you can get food.
The work experience helped a lot as I got to see what it was like to work in a office environment and gave me an insight Into the job role. My mentor also took out time to sit with me and talk to me about what career path was best for me.
We only got paid for travel.
There was no meeting events but my mentor introduced me to some of the other employees and I had a lunch with a few with them just to talk about what they do and ask any questions I had.
Yes
Overall, the experience was once in a lifetime. I learnt a lot of things and got an insight whilst also having fun. I have a better stance of what I want to do with my career now. I think everyone will benefit from this a lot and ask enjoy it.
Just be yourself. Don’t be scared to ask questions and integrate and meet with other employees. Everyone treats u like u actually work there.
