My role is to work my way up the managerial path. I will start my first year as a store assistant job role, on a day to day basis everyday is different, it involves help customers , doing deliveries , de-carding, working different pallets, making sure the shelves are stacked, make sure they customers have a happy shopping experience. Year 2 and 3 will be training to be a manager you do the same things on the day to day basis but you need to know what needs to go out what has and what hasn’t been done who does what. It’s more complex but you get plenty of support.
I have learnt leadership skills , my community skills have really improved by talking to customers on a day to day basis helping them out with whatever they need, my customer service skills have most definitely improved I didn’t have customer service skills before i started Aldi. Aldi will make you learn skills you never of thought you would.
I really enjoy my programme, I love coming into Aldi doing my job help out customers making sure the shop is clean hazard free and fully stocked, and with all the support of my store colleagues and managers, it makes it more enjoyable. Aldi is the best place to do an apprenticeship, they don’t treat you like an apprentice which I love they’ll treat you like a store assistant, and you never ever feel left out or the “apprentice” , you’ll feel like a store assistant. I love my job and I enjoy coming to work.
My program is well organised, I have online courses to do when I’m not at work , I spend an hour a week on it , that’s all they expect you to do. It’s well organised because when you do your online course it’s easy to access and you know what needs to be done and what you have done and if you need any help your tutor will ring you and you can get help that you need.
I receive so much support from my employer at lifetime training , if I need any help or I’m getting worried about falling behind she is so supportive and if I need any help she will help me and explain anything if I need to and she’ll explain until I understand, she makes sure that I’m not struggling with the course and if i need any help on my course just let her know and she’ll support and help me as much as she can.
I get loads of support when I need it and If I’m struggling or getting worried I get so much support and they make sure I’m not getting stuck and if I need any help at all I just contact them and they either ring me or text me and give me the advice or support that I need.
In my qualification it helps me to perform my role better because it explains customer service in more depth and how to deal with different situations, and examples of what and what not to do and the backgrounds of it all and with explaining customer service in depth it helps you how to approach a customer and how to deal with different types of situations.
We have monthly meetings to discuss our performance overall and it gets everyone together and we talk about what we could do to improve , and how much we have improved on, and you can do activities as a store , and have a big discussion it really helps you and how to make yourself ever better at your job role.

Be yourself.
