Audit senior - We have to carry out testing upon the financial statements of different companies to ensure the figures they are going to put on the financial statements are fair and accurate.
Skills have been developed using IT systems such as excel and learning and understanding accounting better due to continual development in this field. Also learning more around data analytics.
There is a lot of hard work, we do not get paid overtime and we are understaffed which is a strain.
Very well organised with separate blocks for college and then at work. EY give us reasonable amount of time for studying. We have counsellors who support us through our time at EY and this helps our development.
A counselling manager who meets and catches up with you quarterly. There are many forms of support.
We go to college in the lead up to exams. We have also an online portal that Kaplan provide with videos around the topics of our exams.
There are elements of the exams that are useful at work but sometimes the work and the exams are not related.
There is an EY football team that operates on a sunday morning. There are also voluntary events that occur every year where we as employees go out to a site where we help a community centre.
