This program involved training for a level 2 CMI qualification in team leading, speeches from employees, group/team building activities and work experience within one of the EY divisions, all which help boost your CV.
I completed training for a level 2 qualification in Team Leading awarded by CMI. I also developed skills in team work and presenting ideas to a group and an audience.
I really enjoyed my work experience, it is useful way to spend some of your summer. It’s also a great way to meet new people and make new friends especially those who have similar career aspirations as you. All the team leaders and employees were very friendly also.
Very well organised. Everyday was planned for with different activities.
We got speeches from current employees who spoke about their experience also we were able to ask questions to any speaker and employees during the work experience to help aid our understanding. The hands on shadowing/ work experience also helps us see what it’s like.
It was a great insight about what it’s like to work in a top firm and see what day to day tasks involve for some roles so makes a useful experience to help decide if you’re interested in working in finance or not.
Yes. We were paid at the end of the 2 weeks.
We had chances to network when working with different employees whether it was after their speeches, when they were helping in team activities, during the work experience or the graduation event.
Yes
This experience is very useful especially when attending future work experience programs/internships as it makes you more comfortable with being in a corporate environment and the tasks they involve. It looks amazing on CV and gives you a competitive advantage whilst being a 2 weeks you can enjoy.
Try to relax during the phone interview and think about all the skills you have and where you have gained them or use them - this can be from everyday life, you don’t have to have had a massive role in something to show you have a skill. Also, enjoy the experience and be open to making new friends and speaking to new people.
