As a Receptionist, I am the first point of contact for our company. My duties include offering administrative support across the organization. Welcome guests and greet people who visit the business. Coordinate front-desk activities, including distributing correspondence and redirecting phone calls, logging jobs for any irregularities. Always able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner.
I have learnt many new skills and even developed the existing ones. Please see below: Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Solid written and verbal communication skills. Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise. Organisational skills. Multitasking. Time-management skills with ability to prioritise tasks. Customer service attitude. Additional certification. Stress management skills.
I really enjoy the variety and the parts of the programme that involve aspects like problem solving, developing people and dealing with team members. It has so many different areas including quality, finance, management. It changes you significantly and boosts up the confidence. It’s very interesting throughout and very rewarding which is constantly evolving with the times.
Programme is extremely well structured and organised; I was given a timetable with all the information of training modules at the beginning of the programme. The induction was well structured as it gave me the time to get to know other apprentices also, we were introduced to a lot of the people we would be working/studying with and we spent time with our support manager. Training courses sporadically throughout the programme were all very well organised as we had email reminders and I feel like I learnt a lot. We are regularly updated of anything important via email or phone call by my support manager and she is very supportive. We have regular catch ups and everyone is very supportive.
Twice it thrice a month I have a meeting with my manager but apart from that Whenever I require anything relating to the programme support is always provided. My manager gets all the updates of all my work progress via emails and if any improvements required she is more than happy to go over the same thing more than once if I’m not understanding.
My training provider is the best. She is the Regional Trainer of Emergency Services and Training | Land Babcock International Group. I get a lot is support from her and we have regular catch ups. We also keep us contact via email and I can always contact her if I am confused or have any problems.
This qualification improves the effectiveness of my current workforce as such training is vital for my improved productivity. I have developed skills that allow me to undertake a greater variety of work. I have an increased ability to respond effectively to change. Training helped me improve my morale, competitiveness and satisfaction.
We do have volunteering, charitable and fundraising groups with a lot of opportunities to take part. We also have sports teams and do networking events to keep the community of our estate involved and connected. I’m regular at helping in events and encourage others as it can be a valuable experience.
