My role is to go around to several different placements and work there doing the different role in each. I write up about each place whilst I’m there about what I do and the processes that are in place in each placement.
I have developed my communication and customer service skills whilst being in the LHP. I have also developed the way I compose emails and answer phone calls.
I enjoy it to a certain extent. I feel that if everything was organised for when we all started in August then there would be no disappointments and everyone would know what is happening. It has been a rollercoaster of emotions so far.
The apprenticeship is poorly organised. Half of us don’t have a placement to go into and we were promised an NVQ by the end of 2 years and now we might not even get a technical certificate. I am disappointed in the way it has been organised.
From my line manager, I receive a lot of support and cannot fault this.
We get lessons but we’re not gaining a qualification and therefore do not have a training provider. We write assignments given to us by our line manager that are also marked by her. I feel this is unnecessary and that we don’t need to write them.
I bring my best into work everyday. I try my hardest and I work my hardest. Not for a qualification but for myself and the customers that depend on the work I do. I will not gain a qualification.
There are a few however you must pay a membership to join which, on this wage, I cannot afford therefore cannot comment.
Yes
I recommended AWE to one of my friends who is going to be doing an apprenticeship this year. This is because it is an amazing company to get into and they look after you when you are out of an apprenticeship.
Try your best and hardest to please the people you work for. Read the safety rules and your contract and any agreements carefully before signing.
