For my apprenticeship I get to rotate within different areas of IT. I have done roles such a Business Analysis, Cloud Engineering, and am currently working in the Technology Innovation team. This role involves me working and discovering new technology, but then seeing how we can apply this in different areas of the business such as manufacturing or engineering.

I couldn't have expected a better experience than I have received during this programme so far. The experience and skills that I have already gained as well as the investment and development of myself from other members of the company is amazing.
Initially as there was a vacancy at the position the structure of the programme had some gaps and was more flexible. However since then this position has been filled and is a lot more organised and structured. It is also great to have a point of contact who is with us throughout thew whole journey
I have a great personal network consisting of a manager, a mentor, my university employee liaison tutor, as well as a buddy (more experienced apprentice). This however is not limited to this as many people can help with specific problems. I have received so much help from so many different people.
I personally have found my training provider to be more than adequate. If I have problems I know who to reach out to and they are willing to support.
The degree has many units, so of which relate to my current role, some maybe a future or previous rotation, but all are useful.
I co-run a internal Code cub for beginners to more intermediate learners. The apprentice cohort generally likes to get involved in various charity and fundraising work. There's plenty of extra curricular activities

Being on the fence between doing a full time degree or an apprenticeship after school, I have not looked back on my decision of a degree apprenticeship at all
While technical skills for an IT apprenticeship are desired, it is more about one's potential and desire to learn and improve at their job. If you are truly passionate about the sort of work you can be doing here, be yourself and it will come naturally
