Learning vital skills in a variety of environments with skilled technicians who offer advise and directions from their years of experience in the trade. We are also given time and space to work on the assignments sent to us from our training provider to ensure that we keep on track with all work and stay on track to reach our targets.
Yes, I have learnt a lot of new practical skills as previously I have had limited exposure to practical environments. This apprenticeship has enabled me to combine my theoretical understanding alongside practical tasks which is one of the main reasons why I chose this apprenticeship. I have also developed my professional communication through my work by speaking to more experienced professionals within the business to build healthy working relationships
I thoroughly enjoy my apprenticeship as it is very different to my previous background which was based more on the theoretical understanding but this apprenticeship has enabled me to develop a much wider set of skills. It has massively helped me personally as well through the variety of different environment that we are exposed to thanks to our training.
I feel that our programme could be slightly better organised and structured as there has been times where there has been some confusion over these. However I have has a mostly positive experience during the apprenticeship so this does not have a huge impact on my overall opinion of my time.
I have received a lot of support from our employer and we are in contact during the times that we are away from work to ensure that everything is going to plan and if we have any issues. There has been a few issues that we have had and our line managers worked to ensure that this was solved as soon as possible which I appreciated massively.
Our training providers have been excellent and they have ensured that we have had towards our qualifications. They set up frequent sessions to ensure that we were aware of how and where we can access support and advise when we needed it and this has proven to be very useful especially as we are completing controlled work.
I think that our qualification is going to prove to be very useful when performing our role as it allows us to understand key concepts that are crucial for our work. We are given assignments that are relevant to real world applications and these tasks are helping us to understand how to apply our theoretical understanding to practical applications
Yes, whether we are at work or away from work there is a wide range of extra-curricular activites to get involved in and these are regularly advertised so we never miss out on the opportunities available to us. The fact that they are widely advocated shows how highly they are rated which gives you confidence in taking part in such programs.
Yes
They are a company who are willing to help you develop your skills with the potential to working in the company upon completion of your apprenticeship. All of the technicians are very helpful and have a lot of experience which they share with you to help you further your own skills.
Go for it. I am so glad that I am undergoing an apprenticeship and especially with AWE. Even from before my first day they were offering help and advise to make sure that I could make the most of every single second that I spend here. An apprenticeship can open up so many opportunities for you so do not hesitate and apply now. I would highly recommend applying and my advice for those applying would be to be honest and open, explain why you are interested, what your interests and hobbies are and how this links to the role.
