As I am part of a small organisation, my role covers many different areas including: graphic design, web development, software engineering as well as general IT support for the office.
My technical ability in regards to software engineering has massively improved. My academic writing skills too. I have found that these skills have helped to me to become a more well-rounded young professional.
The content has always been interesting, useful and was taught at a pace that even a beginner like me could handle. I cannot fault anything and believe that this course deserves all of the recognition that it receives.
Very. I really like the way the course is structured. Being able to choose a certain pathway after the first year gave me more control over my learning.
As much as they possibly can. Being a small organisation means there isn't that level of technical support that others on my course have. Despite this, my managers have been amazing; organising catch ups, proof reading my work and so on.
Lots. The lecturers have always been available for me to talk to - whether it was to sit and chat, talk on Skype, give me feedback on work or to just point me in the right direction. They have even opened up on weekends for us to attend support sessions.
The hands-on work in the labs has substantially improved my technical skills and more noticeably, built up my confidence in the technical aspects of my current role at work.
Its a small (and very busy) organisation and so social events aren't really organised by the company. As a group, we tend to organise a drink together or a meal out every so often.
Yes
The team at The Travel Visa Company are like a family to me. I joined straight after college and received the so much support from everyone there. I was given all sorts of opportunities to improve my skills set and work on some really interesting projects.
