In my role I work as part of a small team running tests on smart meters to verify that a code release is working as expected.
In my role I'm being constantly challenged and picking up new skills as I go including attention to detail and collaborating with the team. As well as learning a raft of new tools including ALM and an testing automation framework.
I enjoy the programme I am on as it provides an environment I thrive in where I'm constantly learning and feel supported in all my endeavours.
The programme is very clearly laid out and we know what is expected of us all the way through.
CGI have provided me with 3 people I can turn to for support including my manager, mentor and buddy as well as a host of benefits such as the members assistance program.
Very understanding about the different asks on our time and help to provide us with the materials to learn to the best of our abilities however at times there is a lack of communication which leads to confusion
I feel at times the course could be more relevant to what I do on a day to day basis however I feel that it provides a good foundation to build my understanding and knowledge upon.
Yes, CGI have a Sports and Social club which I have joined which help subside events such as meals out, theatre trips and sporting events (e.g. football).
Yes
I've had a very positive experience so far at CGI and think it's a great alternative to conventional roots and the company culture is very warm and friendly. At no point have I felt concerned about meeting work or university deadlines.
Be yourself Make sure the company is the right fit for you Everyone is nervous You may be working alongside your interviewer in the future!
