As a retail apprentice I take on roles of a travel advisor doing everyday tasks within the shop including selling holidays but also processes that occur off the shop floor. It’s a customer focused role as the customers are at the heart of the business.
I have become more confident within myself and have gained better communication and problem solving skills. I have become more determined and my money/ maths skills have improved whilst on the job
I really enjoy the programme, I am constantly learning something new everyday, no two days are the same and this is what I love as this makes going to work exciting as I look forward to learning new skills and meeting new people
The programme is very well structured my apprenticeship coach always liases with me and I can ask any questions, I always have something to work on towards the qualification making me feel like I am really showcasing what I have learnt.
There is so much help from Tui such as apprenticeship days once a month with other apprentices which included supplier visits. I am allocated one day a week to work towards my apprenticeship which means I’m not behind and always have the opportunity to do the work.
Once a month we have apprenticeship days and these included upskilling or supplier visits. From my team in store they are always there to help and from my apprenticeship coach I always have her to call if there’s ever anything I’m unsure of.
This qualification is helping me in my role as I can reflect on all my achievements and all the new things that I am learning on the job. This also helps me set targets based on these reflections so I can better myself within the role constantly
Yes
It’s such a supportive company in terms of apprenticeships there is always something new to learn and everyone is so supportive and friendly which makes going to work so enjoyable. The staff are amazing and work so hard to put the customers at the heart of everything and always teach the new starters all the important things. There is so much opportunity to progress in roles and it is always highlighted there’s a chance to upskill and progress into the higher roles
Don’t be worried about anything. Everyone is so welcoming especially if this is the first job you’ve had or first experience in a setting like this. Everyone just wants you to help you be the best version of you and everyday is different which makes the job super exciting
