I get given a series of tasks to do over the period I’m doing my apprenticeship and every day I work through these tasks which involve all the basic skills I need to understand electrics
I’ve learnt a great deal of new skills while being at AWE particularly in the electrical department as I know now a good amount of about it and how it works.
I enjoy my programme a lot as I have a good bunch of fellow apprentices and my instructors are really nice guys and are very easily to get along with which helps greatly when trying to learn and improve
I would say it is very well organised and structured as they have been doing it for a very long time and there never seems to be a time when there’s nothing to do as everything is very well planned out
My employer gives me a great deal of support when I need it and it is also very helpful as my instructors are well educated in my field of work which helps a lot when I don’t understand something.

The qualification I’m working towards is helping me greatly in understanding how everything works and this makes me perform better as I understand and are able to do more by myself due to the amount I’m learning
There are plenty of social activities to get involved at AWE they have many different sports teams and other teams which are optional to join to whoever wants to. They also have great sports facilities for these activities.
Yes
It a great place to work, everyone is very friendly and well educated in what they do so when you need help it is readily available and helpful. The work load is very good and the amount I’m learning is very good.
If you know a bit about the area your trying to work in that helps greatly in your progression and this will ultimately lead to a greater experience and an opportunity to learn a wider range of things.
