I am now at the end of y apprenticeship. I now prepare and process both plant and material invoices for the project, assist with creditors payments and deal with supplier queries on a dialy basis.
I have become really good at communicating with suppliers whether that be via email or over the phone. I have become a lot better at organising and prioritising tasks and am therefore able to get a lot more out of a days work than I was when I first started my apprenticeship.
I enjoy my apprenticeship. I am given enough time to study and an effort is made to incorporate skills I learn whilst studying into my everyday tasks.
My apprenticeship is well organised. Every Wednesday I study from home, without and distractions from work. Every other day I work together with the same team to try and overcome new tasks and challenges thrown at us.
My employer is very supportive. I am given as much time as I need to study. It was made clear to me from the beginning that the priority is for me to learn the syllabus and pass my exams so that I can apply them when at work.
My training provider offers me lots of content and the resources required to pass my exams.
Plenty of what I have learned through my training provider has helped me at work. However, being in the workplace and being given real work place challenges is where I feel I learn the most.
There aren't many things to do away from the office.
Yes
It is a leading organisation in its industry and offers many pathways towards where I want to be. Currently I work within the highways sector but going forward there could be opportunities for me all over the country.
Learn about the people and the work ethic that is expected and put it into practice every day. The more you put in the more you get out.
