1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Technician Scientist Apprenticeship Working with bioreactors, set up, inoc, sampling. Working alongside scientists with their on going projects, attending meetings with the team.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I have learned how to cell count, diluting cells, using machines/softwares - vicell, novaflex for sampling bioreactors, dasgip - recording online and offline data from reactor runs on spreadsheet.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy learning the new techniques, the department I've joined consists of 5 multidisciplinary teams that I will rotate around to over the 3 years so I will get a chance to learn 5 different job skills.

My employer is very helpful and always available to speak to and ask questions, they are very supportive.

we have reviews where someone comes to visit me, to ensure I am keeping up to date with coursework.

7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The modules are very helpful, they relate to the work that I am doing in the labs and so are helping me understand what and why I am doing certain techniques.
