I support activities involved in supplying innovative medicines to clinical trial sites all over the world.
I have developed a lot of new and existing skills whilst being at AstraZeneca, including learning how to adapt to a professional work environment and understanding how important teamwork is in my role. I have also become better at working under pressure when workloads are high.
Whilst it was initially difficult to settle in to my role as part of the programme, it is a now a role I thoroughly enjoy despite the challenges that it presents which are all part of the learning curve. I feel lucky to be a part of this programme.
The programme is very well structured, combining everyday work with opportunities to travel to the training provider to study towards my degree.
Monthly meetings with my line manager does reinforce the feeling that the company are willing to support you doing well in your programme as well as your job role. Helps identify areas where extra training may be needed. Can sometimes be tricky to speak to manager on busy days.
a moderate amount of support. At the face-to-face sessions with training provider, they are very willing to answer questions and support ideas. However support could be better structured to help individuals who have had no previous experience in topic areas.
Learning towards my qualification has definitely improved my knowledge around my job role and I have found it easier to apply models/theories I have learnt to specific areas within my department to suggest improvements. As a result, learning more about my department has helped be perform better in assignments.
