I work with stakeholders throughout the business to understand how Learning and Development can support them to achieve their objectives. I support the apprenticeship and graduate schemes and other talent development programmes. There is also an element of programme management in my role to ensure projects are delivered on time and in line with the scope.
Yes I have learnt so much, Booking.com invests a lot in people and their development. There is a suite of workshops you can access include online learning and on the job learning. The apprenticeship has helped me develop the theory and knowledge behind my role, this is something that I use every day.
It is great the Booking.com invests in my development and I am very grateful for this. The apprenticeship programmes fits my role perfectly and the workshop sessions are beneficial and valuable. It's also great to me other professionals from other companies and share different experiences, that's why it's so great the workshops are informal with lots of discussion time.
It was great to receive the timetable at the start of the apprenticeship so I could block out my time. They haven't had to cancel any workshops which is great but, any changes have been communicated in good time. The skills coach visits are always scheduled at the end of the session.
Lots. The company invests such much in people and this is the same for the apprenticeship. My manager asks about my progress and offers support when needed and I know she went through some additional training to support me when I started the programme. There is also lots of support internally if I have any questions about the apprenticeship or I just want to talk something through. As apprentices we also get lots of information and tools to support our well being.
Yes, I can't fault the apprenticeship provider. At the induction they told me everything I can expect which has happened. The skills coach did change part way through due to some feedback I had given which was good to see and I know get the required support needed. I feel like the provider does listen to me.
Over time I have seen how the apprenticeship is helping me in my role, having better knowledge about the L&D practices and policies helps my confidence when working with stakeholders at all levels. It has also helped me see the bigger picture of the work we do as a department.
Anything you think of I think we do! For the apprenticeship programme we have two celebratory events in the year with all the apprentices in the company which is great to meet other people who are completing an apprenticeship. There is also an apprenticeship committee which I am part of. Outside the apprenticeship there are company wide groups and department groups that you can join - there is never a lack of choice!
Yes
It is a great place to work that focuses on it's people. The communication is always regular and clear from the directors and it's clear to see how committed they are to the company. There isn't a bad word I could say about Booking.com and everyone that works here is proud to.
Do you research, understand why it is that you are applying and if it's your passion that will come across. They are looking for people who not only have great technical ability but also the ability to carry out the work effectively. Our values tell people a lot about the culture and people live by these!
