Everyday is a different day in the office as there is so many different skills you are trained to do and so many different opportunities you can take. some of the challenges I face day to day are booking travel such as hotel, trains and flights. I also do admin stuff such as file away files and supporting people with there diaries/calendars.
while working at KPMG have learnt a wide range of skills. this is because I came straight from high school into to work so that in it's self is a massive change and come with all new skills you need to learn. I have improved my communications skills massively over the pass few months as I have to speak to many new people everyday day.
the programme has helped me to gain so much more confidence then what I had before and it gives you the opportunities to meet so many different people from all over the country to help expand your network. I enjoy the programme as your learning is up to you. it our decision what work we want to accept or when we go for our lunch, nothing is forced upon you.
the structured of the programme is that there are a business admin apprentice in each office and the big offices such as London or Watford have more then one due to the size of the office. this is structed well as if gives you the chance to know the other apprentice from the other office in the country and you can see how their work is different to yours.
you receive so much support as an employer this is due to the fact that you given so many different people to go to if you are struggling. such as before I even started I was given a 'buddy' this is someone who is an apprentice from the year above in your office, they are there all the way through your apprentice to help you with anything. then you are given a manage in your office to help you with anything. there is also a manager who looks after all the regional offices who supports you if you need any help. then finally you are given a performance manager who tracks your performance and helps you if you are struggling
you receive a lot of support from your training provider this is due to the fact you are given a coach when you start the program and every couple of months you have a call with them one to one to see how you are doing . Also they are always emailing you to give you help on how to complete your coursework
by doing your coursework it gives you a chance to be able to write about your role and this gives you a different opportunities to reflect on your job role as when your writing about it you can really see the positives and negatives, if there is any, of your job and also it gives you the chance to see what other task you could be doing
yeah there are so many different activities you can get involved in at work. in my office I know that there is a choir and a netball and many more. I know that if there isn't an activity that you want you are given the help and support to create your own
Yes
I would recommend KPMG to friend as it is such an amazing opportunity. you are given so much support to help you pass your apprentice and exceed in the job role you are doing. Also what I like about KMPG is that they are always asking for feedback from you so they can read your thoughts on the apprenticeship and how they can improve
the tips I would give to people applying is throw yourself into ever opportunity you are given even if it does seem scary at first it won't be as you start it as you are given the support you need to get through the challenge and by taking one opportunity it will lead you on to so many more. as the more people you met the more challenges you are given.
