Within the KPMG Digital apprenticeship you are placed in 9 month rotations so there is no standard day, For my first rotation I would be supporting my team for client bids, internal work and on client site working on implementing software. For my second rotation my day varies majorly depending on the client project I am working on.
I have developed so many new skills and developed countless more. From the very first day of working for KPMG you are sent on our "Academy Induction", where all apprentices in your intake are trained and introduced to KPMGs culture and ways of working. From there you have constant access to our learning system which includes access to hundreds of online courses from soft skills to advanced in-depth training.
So far I have really enjoyed my program. From the very first day at KPMG it is obvious that KPMGs biggest asset is the people. Everyone I have met so far has been so down to earth and willing to help and contribute to my development as much as possible.
The program is very well structured and it is clear what the program consists of and what is expected of you. Although the apprenticeship team tend to leave it to the last minute when it comes to communicating any updates or changes. So in this case it is important to be proactive and make sure you ask any questions you have.
KPMG provide lots of support, you are given a buddy when you start which is usually an apprentice from the year above and usually from your team. You area also given a performance manager who you will most likely work alongside in your team. KPMG also have a dedicated Apprenticeship team and a professional qualifications and accreditations team who are there to support you.
We have two weekly lectures from BPP which are online and we have access to forums and the BPP online VLE which houses lots of useful resources especially when it comes to support. We have termly catch-ups with our BPP coaches, which our KPMG Performance managers attend too. There is also a BPP programme support mailbox which is very useful
I feel that the course provided by BPP greatly supports my role within KPMG. Almost all content I have leant from the course has been relevant to my work and has come in extremely helpful. I think the content aligns with the job role brilliantly and has made settling into the team much easier.
There are countless extra-curricular activities at KPMG. There are sports teams, social groups, wellbeing groups etc. There is loads going on at KPMG other than 9-5 working and if there isn't a group for what you want to join everyone is very open and there isn't any reason you couldn't start a group yourself
Yes
KPMG is a great organisation and an amazing place to start off any career. The apprenticeship programs are well organised and the opportunities within the organisation are endless.
Make sure you not only bring your qualifications to your application and interview but also bring your own personality. KPMG wants staff who can not only work well but can add to the community and bring their whole selves to work.
