My Day to day role is mainly made up of face to face coaching, this will include attending team meetings and offering feed back and support to the people who are both leading and attending the meeting as to what they could have done better/ what they did well. I also support the site with the role out of out Manufacturing excellence yearly plans, I do this by hosting training sessions and doing process confirmations to review how our current performance.
since starting my role I have developed my skills more than I ever thought I would, the main few I feel I have improved have been: communication, coaching, social/emotional awareness and my confidence has grown massively and I can still feel my self getting more and more confident everyday.
this is my second apprentice programme I have completed within Astrazeneca so before starting my current one I thought I had a good understanding as to what it is was going to be like, but this has completely exceeded my expectations I am learning much more than I thought I would be an this is leading to me getting increased responsibilities in the workplace this is making work more and more enjoyable and more rewarding as the course progresses
I only started my programme around 2 months ago but from what I have experienced so far it seems very well structured, we have face to face training sessions once a month and they after every few session I have a coaching session with my trainer to see how I am progressing against my plan.
I am very well supported with in my team I have be line manager who I know is always on hand when support is needed I also have my task manager who I work with day to day, I have regular 1:1s to discuss progress and what I could be doing better.
from what I can tell so far the training provider is very supportive of me and there is always someone at the other end of an email to provide any support I need, we have regular check ins and coaching sessions so we both have visibility as to how I am getting on.
I have already noticed massive benefits to my performance in the work place and I have only been on the course for 2 months, these benefits have many been in my personal confidence and my problem solving ability I really look forward to seeing what the modules to come are going to help me improve in the future!
we have plenty of extra curricular events at work, these range from our yearly volunteering days with our local team to our annual Christmas party which is a great opportunity to meet people from any of level of the business in slightly less professional setting. we also have groups such as the apprentice council, this group meets once a month to look at ways that we can try promote the apprentice programmes and organise social and working events.

the main reason I would recommend Astra Zeneca to a friend would be because of what the company actually produces, What's better than going to work every day and helping in someway with the production of life saving and life changing medicines? this was what attracted me to the company because who knows maybe one day someone you know might need to the medicines we produce and I think being able to tell people that you work for that company is something that I my self am very proud of.
my main advise when applying for a role at Astrazeneca would be to do you research, not only for the medicines that we produce currently but also look into the history, this shows your interested and that you want to be there! but the most important thing for me and the best advise I ever got was ask questions! anything you see or hear about the company just ask about it, this will show that you truly care about where you are applying to work.
