I contact assignee's and provide assistance with handling their tax return. I create trackers to monitor client responses. I hold arrival and departure briefings with assignees welcoming them into the country and saying farewell after an assignment. I also mange the mailbox daily for the whole team in GMS.
I am greatly improved my teamwork skills. Working within a large team such as GMS it has helped me develop my communication within my team and with external clients as the variety of personalities greatly differ which has allowed me to gain a greater scope in communicating with different people.
I really enjoy my programme. The people I work with are truly amazing, always around to help and available to answer any questions I may have. I also love the scope I am able to gain over how the business runs as I am able to rotate around the firm.
Very well organised, since starting in October I have always had work to do or I know who I can contact should I not have work. I love that we had to set goals at the beginning of the year, and I also love that we have mid year interim feedback sessions where we can discuss our progress
I receive a lot of support, there are many people in my team who are willing to help me when I need it. There are also weekly team meetings held where I can bring any issues I have and speak about them with everyone. My team always check my capacity before giving me tasks which is greatly appreciated as this supports me in managing my time.
I spent a whole week at BPP training for my first 2 exams, during this time I felt that I was supported very well, I had two lecturers who were very clear and concise when explaining the content and they also gave us homework which helped in the long term as I was able to pass both exams first time.
I love training whilst also gaining that vital work experience, my training provider has greatly helped my work life as they have taught us content which concerns both practical application and theory such as the ethic codes of accountants, learning such content puts me in a great position when operating in the office
There are many extra-curricular activities for you to get involved with personally I a part of a few professional networking events/societies. These are very helpful especially when you are new to the firm as it allows you to meet new people and allows you to feel better connected with the firm.
Yes
The people in the firm are truly magnificent, they will go above and beyond to help you thrive. They also are one of the four largest professional services firms in the world, so there is such a wide scope on the different departments and job roles you could get yourself into
I would advise that you are honest with your application, I would also advise that you get some experience before joining as this could put you above the rest of the applicants. Finally I would say to relax, going into a large firm like KPMG can be daunting however remember that they are looking for new hires and want you to be it !
