My role is to work within the analytical science team, supporting purification and analysis of newly synthesised chemical compounds. I currently work in reverse-phase purification and in further years will move onto mass spectrometry and NMR analysis.
Everything I do in my job is a new skill I have learnt. I have learnt how to use many new types of software including masslynx and more recently spectrus DB. I can also use RP-HPLC instruments and HRMS instruments for purification and accurate mass analysis.
I really enjoy my job and it is very rewarding. Support is always available when needed.
Clearly structured with goals clear that need to be met.
As much support as I need / is appropriate
1 day a week paid for study at home. Colleagues happy to answer any questions that I may raise.
Qualification is interesting and broad although not particularly specific to the job that I do. However, it covers a good base knowledge.
