It mainly involved getting to know EY as a company through current employees who gave an insight into what kind of work they do as well as their career progression within EY. I also got the experience of pitching a business idea to a panel supported by staff at EY Foundation. I also got the opportunity to speak to employees of the Government Commercial Function which was beneficial as it meant I experienced two different sectors.
I developed confidence speaking in a professional environment and gaining a for it.
I felt like I was wanted there and it was a really inspiring environment to be in. I developed my confidence and was really inspired whilst feeling supported.
Mostly well organised even during tight schedules!
It was for two weeks yet I gained lots of information to the point where it felt slightly overwhelming! But I was kindly given the opportunity by employees to know more about their role so even now I am constantly learning.
It definitely opened my eyes a world of possibilities which I didn’t really think of before. I could either go work for the private sector or the public sector and they’re all equally valuable and exciting. I would like to work for the public sector especially in the Civil Service which this programme helped me to decide as I was given the opportunity to have work experience there too.
