over a 5 day period I learn multiple aspects in engineering. I learn at college to get me ready for the workplcae. I learn from things from hand fitting, electronics and working with pipework. I have days when i am learning all different calculations that i may need to use and the practical side which i will need to use on the job.
I have developed and learnt many things in my short time while doing this apprenticeship. Right at the start i got a qualification for functional skills in ICT and now i'm learning so much in many different areas in engineering. i have learnt the most about electrical items and diagrams as well as how to make something with the machines we have in the workshop.
I thoroughly enjoy the programme. I enjoy the practical side the most but before doing this i need to understand all the theory behind it to be able to get amazing results; when i get these results it makes me so proud. The programme is alot of work both in college as well as at home but i know it will be all worth it in the end. Also the people i am working with are amazing and help me whenever it is needed.
one of the greatest parts is that we have meetings every week to make sure that we are all doing well and keeping up together with work. These meetings help me to stay on track and not fall behind on anything. they have even been organised and structured over the lockdown period where we have kept the same routine of doing work.
i recive a great amount of support from my employer. They check up on me atleast once a week to make sure that i am doing well in myself as well as with work. Even the head of all the apprentices makes regular apperances at meeting. i have even got a laptop from my employer so that i am able to get all my work done.
i have a great amount of support from my training provide, as they are not just willing to help me through lesson time but outside of lesson if needed. we always have people we can go to if we simply want to have a talk, this could be about college or even at home.
my qualification covers everything that i will need for my job role. But it doesnt just do that but has other areas of learning. this will be great once i have started my job role, and i may want to move up in the workplace i will be able to.
there are many extra-curricular activites that we are able to do outside of doing work. There are oppotunities to go outside and do challenges as a team that brings us all closer together. An example of this is the mountain challenge. we go to many events to show off BMW to other people and even have charity events multiple times a year.

The apprenticeship is a great way of learning about something you may love in more detail. you can do this in more detail as you will not need to worry about money and having another job outside of college. It's great to understnad everything that goes behind making an amazing car.
The best thing before you are going to apply is to do your research to make sure it is the right job/ career that you would like to go into. one thing that helped me apply and know it was right for me was doing girls go technical when i was at school. when you go to the interview do not be somebody that you are not, be yourself. one great point is to ask questions, they like people who are truly intrested in the apprenticeship.
