  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I'm in The Early Careers Team, I help look after Apprentices, Graduates, Placement Students, Interns and Work Experience. Within my role it focuses on developing our colleagues within the early career community we plan things such as, development events, onboarding and a graduation. I put ideas forward for these events and help implement them into something which will benefit our colleagues.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Before I came to Sage I struggled with confidence in the workplace, since starting as an apprentice I have been able to push myself outside of my comfort zone with the help of my amazing colleagues and team. I have helped lead calls to the business, put together focus groups and planned an induction and graduation.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I think Sage's apprenticeship program is amazing! I really enjoy coming into work, it has so many different opportunities within and allows me to learn new things every day. Every day is different within the apprenticeship program and I truly believe that the apprentices are really looked after within this program and always have opportunities to develop.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I have enjoyed all aspects of my apprenticeship, I have had fun learning and implementing my findings into my role at Sage. It also helped me come up with new fun ideas for the apprenticeship program for example, we had a module about inductions and this enabled me to suggest some ideas for our next induction for the new cohort of apprentices/early career colleagues.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive maximum support from my employer. As I have mentioned previously I struggled with my confidence within the workplace and my colleagues, team and managers helped me massively with this by giving me coaching, one to ones and always being there when I needed support or was struggling with anything.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Within the professional qualification the support was fantastic, my tutor was always around for one to one's or if I had any queries about my college work. However, when it comes to the apprenticeship side of things it was all a bit up in the air about who does what as my training provider is 3rd party.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I have passed my professional qualification (CIPD) however, I am still working on my end point assessment. Whilst attending college for my qualification I really enjoyed learning about different aspects of Human Resources and seeing where I can implement these within my role to become a better People Services Apprentice for Sage.
