I have to complete various tickets on the codebase everyday that are assigned to me. I have to dial into a daily scrum call in the morning and have to regularly speak to other co-workers for help or advice to further improve my skills. I have the responsibility to attend those calls and make sure I complete the work to the best of my ability.
I have developed new skills such as java development as prior to this apprenticeship I was very inexperiened when using this skill. The skills I have developed such as my presentation and communication skills as these were my weaker areas at school and have definitely improved.
I do enjoy the programme and the balance of the programme as there is always work to do whether that is project work or university work. Therefore I am always working and learning something new.
The structure of the programme has improved recently, as now the University lectures occur in the day whereas before it would be in the evenings. This would clash when I would have training for my sports team so now I can complete my work in the day instead.
I receive plenty of support from my line manager who is always checking on how I am doing, what work I have got going on and how my university work is going. I recieve support from my colleagues as well.
I recieve plenty of support and this gives me the tools to be able to achieve my qualifications.
The qualifications that I am learning are building the foundations for development. This gives me the oppurtunity to progress so that I can then apply this skills to my role at CGI.
We have a sports and social club where you can vote for activities to complete for the office. For example I completed the Escape Room and Go Karting and had only been at the company for 6 months.
Yes
Because you will always be provided with oppurtunities at the company. There is many different Business Units and plenty of different projects.
The CGI Values are very important to the company so I would advise you learn and apply these values to everything that you do.
