I go around the woodshop learning everything there is to know about it and how to become one of the best employees in there. I am currently specializing in the lacquering/finishing department
I have learnt alot about working with wood, from how it moves to how it absorbs finsihes
I absolutely love my job, the apprenticeship program I can truly say is one of the best out there, it is so focused on making sure you achieve work goals but also personal challenges and everyone in there is so open to listening to what you have to say
The program has a clear structure, any apprentice can log in to the computer and see exactly what they are supposed to be doing, everything is broken down week by week.
The help we get is amazing. When I started working there I was really shy and woudnt speak to anyone and with the help of the apprentice manager, I am now a bit of a social butterfly getting on with everyone in the department
Our training provider is always helping us out from giving us the location of something, to providing all the correct information when it comes to working towards qualifications
Our qualification helps us understand the material we work with, but it's not a direct correlation as we study furniture making rather than veneering
There are activities organised by employees unofficially so there is but work doesnt tend to advertise them. They are normally a group of people that you either fit into or you dont
Yes
BMW group has really pushed me to become someone who i always wanted to be, my confidence has tripled, if not more and I want other people to have the same feeling I did when I became as confident as I have done
I would say be yourself, show your full potential and allow the BMW group to push you as hard as you can
