I have been working as a housekeeper at Premier inn for 3 years. I have started a level 2 apprenticeship in housekeeping as I would like to progress in my career. I have found the first few projects really interesting and I am looking forward to learning new things.
As I have only just started my apprenticeship I have only completed a few tasks. I have learned more information about where I work in more detail since I started my apprenticeship.
I am really enjoying my apprenticeship and my lifetime trainer has been very supportive. She's always there with answers to any questions I may have.
The programme I have taken on seems very well planned out and organised. I think it will be a good programme to follow. I also think it will help me keep track of progress I have made. Tasks I need to complete are clearly set out and simple to access.
As we have been off work recently I haven't spoken to my manager much about my apprenticeship however she agreed it would be a good next step in my career.
My lifetime trainer, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] has been very helpful since I started my apprenticeship. She's made me feel very comfortable so I feel I can ask any questions I need help with and she will be there to answer. I am looking forward to meeting her in person. I think she will be a great support throughout my whole apprenticeship.
As we are off work just now I haven't used any of my skills on the job yet however I do feel when I go back to work I will be much more aware of the serious incidents which can occur in the Hospitality industry. I have completed my health and safety questions for my apprenticeship as my first project and it meant I had to research more in depth the whitbread policies. I learned how important me taking care and following procedures at work can help others stay safe also.
We don't have any extra curricular activities at work but outside work I am a keen artist. I have always loved being creative, drawing, painting, etc and went to college to do photography.
Yes
I have met lots of lovely people through my job and have always felt supported when taking on new roles and responsibilities. I started as a housekeeper and went on to train on the reception desk. This opened new doors for me and allowed me to work more hours and develop new skills.
Before applying to whitbread I would advise others to consider how they see their future. Whitbread provides employees with great courses and apprenticeships which can allow employees to better their career and progress within the Hospitality industry successfully.
