Well as I am coming to the end I’m my second year my day to day experience was to go to college to learn the necessary skills required to become qualified in my job role
I have been able to develop my maths and English skills throughout my time at the college and I have also managed to develop my teamwork skills, new skills I have learnt include soldering and machinery
I fairly enjoyed my apprenticeship as it was a completely new experience to me living away from home and also I found the course to be challenging in a good way.
As I am part of the first group at the NCFN it was unorganised at the start of the course but with a bit of persistence we managed to get the structure of the course to where it should’ve been for us starting
Overall we receive great support from our employee as they are always there if you need to talk to them about a problem and every 6-12 weeks they would give you a mandatory one to one check up meeting to ensure everything was alright.
The college was very useful in supporting us through the process of earning our qualifications and was always able to give you a helping hand if you didn’t quite understand something.
I feel like it will help me perform a lot better as I will be going into my role with some practical experiences and also some of the theoretical knowledge of what I may be working on.
If there is I am currently not aware of these and at the college there was some tasks like these but they were usually held during college time so we couldn’t attend them.
Yes
Cause I believe that EDF’s apprenticeship is still one of the uk’s leading apprenticeships and also it is a great job for young people to get into as it could lead to a job for life at the end of the apprenticeship.
Keep your head down and focus as the course is difficult at some stages but with the right mind set you will be able to get through it easily.
