My role as an adviser support apprentice is to learn the role of an sse (sales support executive) this role is where an sse looks after a panel of account managers and helps bring in new business and new sales into the company. This is a sales based role and we look for new value leads and processing all new business that comes into the company in align with looking after a number of account managers.
I have learnt alot of new skills by joining the business. We have done internal training around compliance and escalations and our time management skills. We also have monthly training with our apprenticeship coach around different business topics like interviews, linkdin, how to give and take feedback and presenting. I have improved my confidence and build business skills within this role.
I enjoy the office life with my colleagues. I have a very supportive team and manager and also have a coach who develops my training. I enjoy the office atmosphere and the people i am surrounded with.
Unfortunately my program hasn't been the best organised due to the companies big merge at the beginning of the year. I went the first few months without a coach as she was off so we were mostly just researching about the company. I feel as though the move to Edinburgh has been a big move for everyone and lots of people had to re-adjust to their new working schedule and this made it more difficult for us to be properly trained in the role.
I recieve alot of support within my role. I have a coach who develops my training plans and i work with her daily to improve my work. I also have my manager who is very supportive and i have maria who is my apprenticeship coach and she is amazing at what she does.
BPP are amazing at providing support for our booklets. They always get back to us as soon as possible if we have any questions and will call and catch up with us monthly
I feel like the qualification is very accurate representation of developing business admin skills. The qualifications are very based around office life and business admin. I feel it is a general qualification rather than specific to my role as my role is alot more than business admin based but the booklets help with the qualification
There are lots of outside work activities to do relating to work. We have a site that posts about all business related activities we can get involved in.
