I manage a small McDonald's restaurant of about 50 employees. my day to day duties including catering for hundreds of customers, giving the best possible experience to each customer. In more detail, I also look at ways to improve operations of the business, as well as improving the employee experience.
since joining the company I have further developed my social skills due to the nature of the role.
I do enjoy the programme, it is always good to be able to look into detail at certain specifics of businesses and I enjoy the challenge of learning about new topics through self motivated research.
the first 5 day session we spent at the university was an experience for both the lecturers and students. We both learnt things from it and the second visit to the university was a lot smoother. Some of the sessions are unfortunately quite short, but this is expected in such a short time frame.
my business manager is very supportive of my aspirations to complete this course, as well as my franchisee supervisor.
A fair amount. there are contacts for almost all problems I might encounter so I feel confident in the available support I have.
at the moment I have struggled to find a direct link between what I am studying and what I can bring to the business from the course. I feel over time the knowledge I gain will help me become a better manager/business operator.
We have Crew events where all staff from the restaurant complete activities together outside of work.
Yes
the opportunities that McDonald's offers is exceptional and they have great focus on the employees experience.
be yourself and the more you put in, the more you get out of it.
