  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is a portfolio management assistant. On a day to day basis, I look at different portfolios and see cashflows have affected them. I then trade in these portfolios to bring them back inline with their targets. These portfolios can move based on client flows or market movements.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt plenty of new skills as I am now using systems I didn't use before. I have also developed skills such as communication, confidence and time management within my role.

  • I enjoy the programme a lot. I enjoy learning about different areas I never got the chance to learn about before. I also enjoy how their is lots of networking throughout the programme.

  • The programme is very well structured. from the beginning I have had a clear path to follow in order to complete my programme to the best of my ability.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The employer has giving me lots of support from individuals to emails you can reach out to if you need further support. They give me the time I need to complete my programme and understand that I may need time off when sitting exams.

  • My training provider supports me towards my qualification by having regular chat ups and offering their help when I may need it.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think my qualification helps me perform better in my role as I get background knowledge of the basic things we don't get time to go through on the job. This helps me understand why we do stuff and understand further in meetings.

  • There are many extra-curricular activities to get involved at work and they are always sending emails to promote these events to get the most people possible interested.

  • Yes

  • I would recommend M&G to a friend as they are supportive in all your work and always give you the time you need. They are also very understand of life outside of work.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to M&G?
  • I would give other the advice to be yourself as they prefer people that don't try and put on too much of a front. Do you research about the company to show your interest in the company.
