  • 1. Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
  • You’d walk into the staff room and clock in at your start time, then i’d talk to the shift manager and see where they’d like me for my shift. I was usually on the tills or the drive-thru where i would take customers orders and put them through so they could be made.

  • It was very well organised. I knew what i was doing and was provided shifts and times of when i was due to work. I was sometimes called in when i wasn’t supposed to be working but that was optional. I knew when my pay checks would come through and they was always correct.

  • 6. How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
  • I’ve always wanted to work in catering and I feel as though my experience in McDonalds has helped massively. I am now working at a 5* hotel as the head chef! It has took some time to get where i am but without the experience of McDonalds i wouldn’t be where i am now!

  • 7. Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
  • I was paid for this experience and i was paid every two weeks. I would receive a pay slip and a the money would go straight into my bank account. It would be based on the how many hours i had worked and breaks weren’t included. It was all through the bank directly.
