My role is Regional Manager for a housing provider. We work with our residents and help and support them with tenancy management. This could be answering their queries to Anti-social behaviour. I manage two neighbourhood managers who manage 4 housing officers each.
As part of my current role the ILM5 is giving me new tools to do my job. I'm learning on the job and it's helping me to develop my existing skills. It's good to look at different models of leadership and see where I fit in.
I'm thoroughly enjoying it. It's interactive, and I can do this as part of my day job. It's good to look at the theories behind what I do as a manager. Paragon have been brilliant and are always on hand to answer my queries and help.
It's very well organised with activities and workshops to enable you to get engaged and shared your experiences/knowledge. The activities have due dates which enable you to work through things in a logical way.
I get a lot of support from my employer. My manager is also very supportive and helps. It's good to know they're behind me 100%
There's lots of support from Paragon. They're always at the end of the phone or at a workshop to answer your queries and explain things to you. They've been truly excellent.
It's given me the theories behind the way I work. It also looks at self-awareness and about how you need to know your teams and how they learn to be a brilliant manager
I can attend professional networking events and do so. It's difficult in this time of Covid-19 so we make time to do energisers for team meetings virtually. It's good fun.
Yes
because it's a great place to work. There's flexibility, the people are great.
Do your research about the company and ensure you want to work with residents. It's a very rewarding job and we all can make a difference to people's lives
