I work in operational change and I manage change coming into the business and ensure the business are ready for the change, designing and implementing new processes to meet the new change and keeping the operation updated. I also manage incidents involving the new change and work on processes to resolve these.
Yes, I am learning how important governance is in our company and the documentation to support this. I've learnt a lot about project management which I'm already starting to implement into my day to day work. I've learn how to answer questions for my qualification correctly and learning how to build portfolios of my work.
I'm really enjoying my programme, the support we've been offered from Babington and my employer is amazing. My line manager is fully supportive too. I'm enjoying learning something that is part of my personal development and progression and I'm excited to work through the programme and go further with my career.
It is very well organised and structured. The programme is ideally split into knowledge chunks and I'm finding this fits really well with my own workloads. The guys at Babington have been excellent in explaining the framework of the programme and it's currently very manageable. The fortnightly check ins and monthly sessions with my tutor are very good.
My employer has been very supportive, from when I'd applied for the apprenticeship, we needed to change providers and this was done very professionally and we was notified and expectations set very well. We're only a few months in with Babington and they're a great choice. My line manager is attending my monthly 121s with my tutor.
Lots of support is provided. There is a support service for any general queries. I also have a fortnightly catch up call with my tutor and a monthly one to one session where my line manager attends also. There's face to face workshops every couple of months and they've been very clear about where we can go for support if we've got concerns or safeguarding concerns too.
I am working towards a project manager qualification and in the role I am in I am working very closely with project or programme managers and so the qualification is perfect for my development. It's helping me to appropriately challenge how we work and influence other stakeholders within the company.
We don't have anything organised in our workplace, however, there are often social events or nights out organised locally. We also have a quiz weekly with my wider team. Sometimes there are professional networking events however, these are currently limited due to the company's financial position at the moment.
Yes
I've worked here for 18 years. It is a well paid employer with great benefits, such as flexible working. Enrolling in apprenticeships, development opportunities and progression opportunities too. The people who work at EON are amazing, you'll guaranteed to make new friends for life and that's really important.
I would advise anyone applying to E.ON to be open minded and focused on your career. To always treat your customers as you would want to be treated, highlight any gaps where this isn't happening and stay true to yourself. This company will look after you for a long time.
