My role as a senior flex analyst currently involves me servicing our mid- large customers currently on a flexible contract. I ensure all rates are correct in the system, all bills go out on time, answer any customer queries as well as credit management activities. There is lots of data management and this role requires me to be highly organised and have a good attention to detail.
Throughout my apprenticeship I have learnt so many new and valuable skills as well as expanding on what I already had. I feel extremely more confident in my ability, have the knowledge to make the right decisions, feel more confident when handling conflict and learnt about creating a high performing team. I believe these skills have helped me recently require a new role in the position I have been working towards for the last year.
I did enjoy the programme and the different aspects of the course but at times found the work a little repetitive and not always fully explained. I enjoyed the self learning aspects as well as the workshops as it was good to be able to interact and get ideas from a range of people.
I think there is improvement to be made in terms of structure. I don't think I fully understood the whole process from the beginning and only recently understood when I came to my end point assessment. The workshops/ online learning and modules weren't aligned so at times things got very confusing and everyone was at different stages of learning. I also didn't like how spaced out the workshops were as I felt it was a very long time. I also had my Development coach change halfway through my course which I found disruptive and to be honest was never really explained why. However I very much liked my new coach and she was really helpful so I was very happy in the end.
I must say E.ON were fantastic. They were fully supportive from the beginning right up until the end. They provided me with development time to carry out learning, answer knowledge questions or complete any tasks that I needed to. They were also great in ensring my day to day work was covered when I was at a workshop so I didn't have to worry about things not being done. My manager especially was fantastic, she really helped me along the course, providing me valuable experiences as her delegate to help me along.
I think the support was there it just at times it wasn't always clear. I definitely think there were certain members of the training team who were more helpful then others but overall the support was good. The online platform was a useful tool that I used a lot to refer to when stuck.
I feel my qualification definitely helps me perform better. I am more understanding on the impact of my decisions, attitudes and actions personally and professionally. I feel I now have the ability and confidence to do what needs doing and produce the results my business expects. I think I have also learned how to encourage and help others do the same.
Yes, there are always many activities going on. We have a number of committees who encourage everyone to get involved but never force anyone to do anything they don't want to. There is an internal page that all colleagues can share and find this information- which is great for everyone.
Yes
I think E.ON is a great employer. Not only are they a successful business but they are a caring and supportive family. They truly work hard to ensure you have the tools, knowledge and skills to carry out your role but also help you to push yourself further and develop your career. They are also extremely flexible and helpful.
Go for it! If you are passionate, hardworking and want to work for a great business then apply. As long as you are ready to commit and work hard I cant see why E.ON wouldn't want you. Its a great company with endless opportunities and I would encourage anyone to look at applying.
