As a 360 apprentice, I have the opportunity to move around different teams so per rotation, my day can look very different but at the moment, whilst working in my current team, my day-to-day role involves working on client projects in order to deliver IT solutions in order to enhance the audit process.
I have been able to develop and build upon existing team building and relationship building skills whilst working here, alongside problem solving and time management. In regards to new skills, I have been able to learn a variety of new technical skills such as power BI, excel and Alteryx designer
I enjoy the aspect of rotation and being able to gain a variety of new experiences and skills, alongside being able to choose what I specialise in as it gives me the freedom to decide my own career by finding a department I enjoy and want to develop my experience in,
The organisation is fairly well structured with lectures being of an evening and after work, they can feel quite long and make the days drag on but it gets them out the way. this is helped by the one day a week away from work the company gives you to study.
To build on the above point my employer is really helpful, any concerns they take back to the training provider and attempt to resolve and improve the course, they also provide us with a day a week for study and during busy exam periods we can request for additional days to meet deadlines.
They provide sufficient support, with some tutors being more helpful and supportive than others. The lack of support on occasions has not made a huge impact currently but as mentioned above if it became an issue I feel confident my employer would be able to resolve the issues timely and effectively.
I feel it doesn't help me within my current role at the moment due to the topics I have studied being business management, project management and maths for computing however, it is providing me with fantastic knowledge and experience to take forward in to more senior roles when I am able to do so.
Yes, we have an intranet full of events, along with the apprenticeships team events and days, they also provide us with useful conferences to attend in order to provide us with further networking opportunities. We can also participate in social activities such as nights out, quizzes and charity events throughout the year.
Yes
It is an interesting and opportunistic place to work, with a forward thinking leadership team and helpful people from top to bottom. Everyone is friendly and tries to aid you on your journey through the organisation the best that they can, with most people taking the extra time to ensure your success in a task or project.
Be yourself, be honest and show that you want to learn and improve yourself both on a personal level and a professional level. Also, make sure you are committed to your studies as they can be challenging but will provided you with reward in the end. this is probably the biggest challenge I have faced so far managing both
