My day-to-day role can differ from sending emails (everyday), to working away and promoting what KPMG do. There's always the opportunity to work as a team and grow this way.
Definitely become more confident in terms of talking to people I haven't before, as well as learning things about working within a large company that I can only learn with experience. Been able to develop public speaking and team work/leadership.
I can honestly say that I love my job, which I personally think is a privilege. KPMG is an amazing company to work for and the opportunities presented to me as an apprentice are unbelievable in the way that you're treated like any other employee.
From KPMG's side I would say at the start it could have been a little bit more structured just in the way that on my first day nobody was there specifically for me. To change this I'm going to make sure I'm there for my buddy.
Somebody is always there to give advice/support/information. My performance manager is very supportive and has been of me throughout the year. There's a lot of opportunities for learning and growth.
The support from my training provider varies, because it's all online it's difficult to get the full support needed sometimes e.g. when waiting for a response to an email. However, all of the content is there to be learned.
In certain aspects, some parts of my education from my training provider cross over into my day-to-day job, which is quite rewarding when this happens as I can put my knowledge to the test.
There's usually always a social going on (apart from now during COVID-19), but it's also encouraged that we create our own socials. Networking is massively promoted too.
Yes
It's an amazing company to work for, they genuinely want you to do well. Even though it's such a huge company, it's always clear that the support is readily available.
Be yourself. I applied thinking that I'd give it my best and see where it took me and look at me now :)
