  • I enjoyed learning new skills. I also enjoyed meeting fellow students at study and exam days.

  • We were the first students to undertake this particular apprenticeship. As a result it was often a little disorganised and lacking structure. My professional coach was very experiences and knowledgeable which helped.

  • Little or none.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My original talent coach was disorganised and didn't help a great deal. He was replaced during the second year of the apprenticeship. His replacement helped me greatly, filling in the admin gaps left as well as providing good support with my portfolio of evidence.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I was recently put at risk of redundancy so have been assigned routine tasks. Hopefully, the skills learned should help in a new role.

  • Not really

  • 9a. Would you recommend HSBC to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I feel that my department is poorly managed. However, HSBC is a good employer which I've enjoyed working for.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to HSBC?
  • Persevere. The nature of the business can make it a very frustrating place to work. Complex procedures and global teams can make relatively simple tasks time consuming.
