This role has a variety of aspects to it. It includes Writing workpapers, Speaking to stakeholders but there are also times where you will have to take part in other parts of the audit tasks such as updating assure which is a system which contains all information on any audits.
I have been able to develop my communication skills, both written and oral. I have been able to develop these skills by speaking to stakeholders and gaining feedback from colleagues once I had written work papers. Moreover, this role has really helped me to understand the life of working in an office.
I enjoy my programme to a great extent because I feel as though I have really been pushed out of my comfort zone which is good because I have been able to grow. The only downside to the programme is that it does not give you a guaranteed role at the end.
It wasnt very organised because we had to switch providers half way through and there was a lot of problems with understanding what is actually required of us as apprentices. However I am currently in my second year and I am now in a much better position. It did take a while to get to this point though.
I have reciever a lot of support from the employer. I have been allocated study days to allow me ot study and keep ontop of things. I have my study day 1 day a week. They also provide othe rtypes of support such as help on training and developing skills.
I recieve alot of support from the training provider also. I have calls every 6 weeks with my talent coach. I have been assigned a talent coach to help check where I am with my apprenticeship and answer any questions I may have about the programme. They also go through my trackers.
My qualification helps me because I am given the chance to use everything that I learn in my day to day activities. I ahve been on foundation academy which was a residential dedicated to learn new core skills and at the end of this training I was given a qualification.
There are extra curricular to get involved in such as talks where guest speakers are invited and you can go and join. There are also, networking events from the IIA which you are emailed about. There are also events run by the company themselves such as an annual conferece. s
Yes
I would recommend Barclays because tehy have helped me gain a lot of key skills needed fo rthe work industry. As an apprentice I have been given the best opportunity to start learning what I would need to do in the work industry. Furthermore, I believe they provide a lot of support.
I wouldl advise them to prepare ahead of the interview. If you are applying as an apprentice you may want to plan different ways which will allow you to stand out in front of others as you may have to go through group interviews. Also, even if teh application process becomes difficult the key is to not give up.
